This HGV Class 2 Operator  will report to the Area Agent and will work within Network Operations based in our Childerditch office. You will be a permanent employee in our Powercare team.

 

You will attract a salary of £38,056 per annum and a bonus of 1%.

 

If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check

Job Purpose

To ensure delivery to schedule of plant, materials and equipment to Field Teams within the South East Region through the provision of a safe and efficient operation. Work as part as a team on site to complete work and act a support person where required. You will travel to the depot and pick up HGV to start work. You will also work weekends.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsibility for all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment relevant to this role
  • To perform risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
  • Be able to operate hand held IT equipment to receive job instructions and record site information
  • Ensure quality of works meets with current procedures
  • Ensure works are carried out to meet guaranteed service standards
  • Ensure the security of vehicle, tools, plant and equipment
  • To work on their own or as lead person in a 2-person team
  • Be prepared to undertake other reasonable responsibilities following the requirements of the Company
  • Be an ambassador for UK Power Networks.

 

Qualifications:

  • HGV Class 2 Driving Licence
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Crane Operator Competency (Loader / Clamshell)
  • CSCS Operatives card
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Slinger / Signaller

 

The following skills are not essential for the role but would be advantageous

  • Experience working on electricity network
  • Sub-Station Entry
  • NRSWA Units 001-009

 

 

Nature and Scope:

You will work either on their own or as the lead person in a 2-person team carrying out the delivery of materials, plant and equipment to and from site. You will also assist Field Teams to complete work on site, and act as a support person.

 

You may travel anywhere within the UK Power Networks Network Footprint and work outside of normal core hours and participate in an out of hours standby rota.
