Examples of these include, but are not limited to, the aviation, rail, defence and utilities sectors, logistics and fleet operations, manufacturing and industrial, ports, Public Sector, commercial and property development and nuclear. We have delivered for our clients for more than fifty years.

UK Power Networks Services deliver an award-winning culture of safety within our business and the businesses we work with. We understand the environments we operate in and the sustainability ambitions of our clients.

Reporting to the Business Operations Manager for Safety, Health and the Environment (SHE), you will manage your team of SHE professionals, overseeing their daily work and providing professional technical support. You will have the opportunity to develop policy and procedure contributing to the SHE management system and our safe systems of work, and should any accident or incident occur, you will investigate and identify the root causes and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

Managers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations. This includes briefing individuals working for them and ensuring there is the necessary understanding, competence and application of requirements to work safely and without harming the environment.

Employees will ensure they understand the health and safety risks involved in their work activities and their responsibility to apply the controls needed to manage those risks to acceptable levels. Similarly where work activities can have an adverse impact upon the environment, and where there are legal requirements, employees will understand those impacts and the controls they must ensure are applied.
