This Sustainability Advisor will report to the Lead Sustainability Advisor and will work within UKPN Services based in our Heathrow office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £65,241 plus outer London allowance and a bonus of 3%. This role is site-based only and not eligible for flexible working.
Close Date: 04/12/2025 with interviews to be scheduled for 12/12/2025.

Job Purpose:
You will report to the Lead Sustainability Advisor and give Sustainability and Environmental advice and support to our dedicated team of SHE Advisors, Engineers, Managers, Contractors, Consultants, Analysts, and Project Team members.
The purpose is to assist UK Power Networks Services in becoming one of the most environmentally and socially responsible network distributors and energy consulting companies.
Principal Accountabilities:
Sustainability/Environment:
- Deliver Sustainability-based advice to all roles within the Heathrow Projects team
- Integrate our newly developed Embodied Carbon tool within all Projects delivered at Heathrow by UKPN Services. Ensuring that all embodied carbon costs are measured at different stages of the project by the client.
- Complete Life Cycle Assessments for UKPN Services Projects and Design teams as stipulated by our clients.
- Support The Lead Sustainability Advisor in the implementation and delivery of PAS 2080/Science-based Target Initiative
- Support The Lead Sustainability Advisor in recording UKPN Services' carbon footprint (Collating scopes 1,2 and 3)
- Provide advice on and review sustainability tender responses from the bid team.
- Support development of Sustainability and Environmental SHE training and communication materials to employees and contractors.
- Support the SHE incident investigation process by participating in Environmental incident investigations.
- Meet client sustainability reporting requirements by providing evidence of commitments and achievements for the Heathrow Balanced Sustainability Scorecard.
Social Value:
- Support The Lead Sustainability Advisor in the delivery of UKPN Services' Sustainability and Social Value Strategy.
- Record social value contributions by the Heathrow Projects team.
- Encourage community engagement by supporting employee volunteering, delivering work experience insight days, and collaborating with procurement to encourage local small medium enterprises (SME's) within the UKPN Services supply chain.
- Provide advice on and review social value tender responses for the bid team.
- Meet client social value reporting requirements by providing evidence of commitments and achievements for the Heathrow Balanced Sustainability Scorecard.
Innovation:
- Research and cost benefit analysis of new technologies or alternative approaches and their practicability within the business to improve sustainability or social value contribution.
- Stay up to date with the needs of our industry within the sustainability space.
Nature and Scope:
You will work as part of a the UKPN Services SHE Team and be based at the Heathrow office, where you will help UK Power Networks Services grow, while developing and delivering our sustainability and social value footprint within an office-based environment. From time to time you may work from different locations.
Qualifications:
- You will hold a qualification in environmental management, carbon accounting, or sustainability. NEBOSH, IOSH or ISEP (Previously IEMA) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of energy market, technologies and applications.
- Knowledge of the "Oneclick" LCA software system
- Experience in a similar role collating and presenting Embodied Carbon and Life Cycle Assessments for infrastructure or construction projects.
- Awareness of environmental issues in the electricity distribution industry.
- Experienced in report writing
- Build external and internal relationships.
- Focused on meeting client deadlines, prioritising as directed by the Lead Sustainability Advisor.
- Communicate at all levels.
- Demonstrate accurate work
- High level of IT literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience implementing important Environmental /Sustainability accreditations, such as PAS2080/SBTi/ISO14001
- Hold a valid full and clean UK driving licence
