This Troubleperson will report to the field staff supervisor and will work within network operations based in our Croydon office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.

You will attract a salary of £45,118 (Plus Shift Allowance) per annum, outer London weighting per annum and a bonus of 3%

Job Purpose:

The position, working as part of the Croydon Area team will manage the restoration of LV supplies on the UK Power Networks LV distribution system, carrying out jointing repairs on the HV and LV cable networks. After a period of training, you will manage the full range of Troubleperson activities including first line response and permanent fault repair work at voltages up to 33kV.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Location of faults on the Distribution network
  • The restoration of HV & LV supplies
  • Test and switch on the HV & LV network – and understanding the results of the tests and acting appropriately
  • Any other relevant jointing duties
  • Supervise excavating teams
  • Understand operational and 1:500 diagrams
  • LV and HV jointing
  • Use IT equipment including TDR, LV Faults sniffer and FFE equipment
  • Immediate supervision of a working party

Qualifications:

  • City and Guilds 2339, formally 232,
  • IOSH Managing Safety or be willing to undertake a course of study to achieve thi
  • Streetworks qualification Units 1, 2, 3 and supervisor
  • Flexibility and able to work alone and in a team environment
  • Ability to problem solve in a practical way
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Must have a clean driving licence
