This Pensions Analyst (Accounts & Member Data) will report to the Pensions Project Manager and will work within the Human Resources directorate based in our Crawley office. You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of £37,000.00 and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job purpose:

Your role will be to ensure the validity, accuracy and reporting of data from Pensions Services including member, scheme and financial data

 

Principal accountabilities:

You will sit within the in-house pensions team and you will help prepare scheme accounts from source data, alongside delivering high-quality reporting of member benefit data. You will combine technical accounting capability with strong analytical and data management skills to support governance, regulatory compliance, and decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

Scheme Accounts Preparation

Work with data from multiple teams, including administrators, custodians, investment managers, and internal finance systems.

Undertake processes to post to Aviary accounting software

Help prepare quarterly pension scheme management accounts

Help prepare pension scheme financial information for regulatory and corporate accounting purposes.

Communicate with third-party service providers and auditors to resolve queries.

 

Member Data Reporting & Analysis

Analyse member benefit data to support actuarial valuations, accounting disclosures, and scheme reporting.

Assistance and support on one-off pension projects

Support data preparation and maintenance during scheme events such as benefit statements and pension increases.

Data analysis, reconciliation and validation for our Group Personal Pension Scheme.

Produce regular and ad hoc reports on membership movements, benefit changes, and liability metrics.

Identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues within member datasets.

Support data cleansing exercises and improvement projects.

Work with administrators to validate and improve data integrity.

 

Data Management & Controls

Maintain knowledge of UKPN policies around data management, protection, cyber and supported tools and comply with these policies

Maintain data reconciliation and validation processes between systems and reports.

Develop controls around financial and member data.

Document processes and maintain clear audit trails to support governance requirements.

Support implementation of data governance frameworks and controls.

 

Partner Engagement

Collaborate with other teams (Finance, HR, Payroll, IS, Cyber) and external providers (administrators, actuaries, auditors).

Become familiar of the administration team's processes, workloads, issues and priorities.

Communicate clearly and promptly to keep team members informed and updated on data management issues.

Present analysis and findings to non-technical partners.

Support the Pensions Executive with Trustee reporting packs and insights.

Support the Head of Pensions with analysis to support Corporate Strategy decision-making by the Corporate Pensions Committee

 

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to reduce risk and increase efficiencies in reporting and accounting processes.

Support system enhancements or data transformation projects.

Contribute to automation of reporting and reconciliation processes.

 

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Experience in pensions, finance, or a related analytical/accounting environment.

Analysis skills (Excel advanced level essential; experience with data tools beneficial).

Knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases and SQL-based languages

Experience extracting and validating data

Translate data into meaningful insights

Experience working with large datasets and identifying trends/issues

Understanding of data integrity, consistency, and validation principles

Ability to troubleshoot data issues and investigate anomalies

Retrieve and work with data from external systems

Experience with data visualisation or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)

Understanding of pension scheme structures and member data.

Good reconciliation skills.

You will interpret complex datasets and present clear insights.

 

 

Desirable:

Experience working with pension administrators or schemes (DB/DC).

Some knowledge of UK pension scheme accounting requirements (e.g. SORP).

Experience with SAP, Aviary and Pensions Office

Understanding of APIs and data integration
