This IT Licensing and Hardware Asset Analyst will report to the IT Hardware and Software Asset Manager and will work within the Information Systems directorate based in our Crawley or London office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £30,000.00 and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job Purpose:
UK Power Networks is the leading Distributed Network Operator (DNO), with the ambition on supporting the transition to Net Zero at the lowest possible costs to customers.
Reporting to the IT Hardware and Software Asset Manager, the purpose of the IT Hardware Asset & Software Analyst's role is to help ensure overall optimisation of our IT Hardware & Software Assets.
You will be involved in the managing the Asset Management Database, resolving any discrepancies. Facilitating the JML process.
Dimensions
- Experience in ITAM (IT Asset Management) in the processes and procedures
- Experience in producing, or contributing to an ELP (Effective Licence Position) report
- Experience in tracking hardware assets and maintaining a compliant estate
Hardware
Provide support in asset managing approximately 5,000 Laptops, 3,000 Field Devices and 5,300 mobile phones.
Software
Provide support in asset managing approximately 200 licensed desktop applications and UK Power Networks server software responsibilities.
Responsibilities
To provide support to the IT Hardware and Software Asset Manager in all areas of IT Software & Hardware Asset Management.
We are looking for someone with administration, organisational and analytical skills to help ensure UK Power Networks IT Hardware & Software Assets are managed, records are kept up to date and Assets are utilised for cost efficiency.
You will perform relevant tasks. This can include:
Hardware
- Analysis of Hardware allocations and usage from database reports to identify.
- Movement of hardware without process/approval
- Non usage of equipment
- Anomalies in data
- Ensure records are kept to support any audits.
- Identify process improvements.
Software
- Compile analysis on license positions including
- Current compliance position
- Recommended actions
- Timeline for actions to be complete
- Ensure records are kept to support any audits.
- Help with the renewal of software for our large account reseller by providing usage analysis
- Identify process improvements.
Required Experience
- 2+ years' experience working in an IT Department working with data analytics.
- Experience of managing small projects and gathering requirements.
- Excellent collaboration skills with both internal and external partners
- You will provide reliable data to ensure we are managing our hardware assets inline with policy.
- Microsoft Office 365 skills especially Excel, TEAMS and PowerBI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with ITIL/ITSM/ITAM processes.
- Familiar with IT Hardware Asset Management.
- Familiar with Software Licensing
- Familiarity with Service Now & Intune.

The Nature of this team is representing UKPN's IS Department in all aspects of Support to the business's user community. To instil user confidence in the IS Department's ability to provide and support the best possible solution. To bring previous experience to the role, work with the IS Department to effect improvement.
