This Regulatory Data Analyst will report to the Asset Information Regulatory Reporting Manager and will work within the Information Systems directorate based in either our London, Crawley, Colchester or Bury St Edmunds office. You will be a permanent employee.

 

You will attract a salary of £61,723.00 and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job Purpose:

 

Working within the Asset Information team you will be responsible for monitoring and tracking compliance of the asset replacement and refurbishment programme and Regulatory Output measures (Health Indices and Criticality Indices), including management reporting.

Also, you will support Asset Engineers and the Senior Data and Performance Analysts in analysing and improving data quality.

This role has no financial or line management responsibility.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • Monitor and tracking compliance of the Health and Criticality Indices Regulatory Output measures
  • Responsible for reporting on, and maintaining, data quality associated with the Health and Criticality Indices and for creating forecasted Output Measures to model proposed investment scenarios.
  • Undertake investigation and resolution of data quality and system issues
  • Responsible for collation, production and assurance of the NARM information and commentary for defined asset categories
  • Support the development and testing of CBRM models, including liaison with third parties for data exchange, input and quality issues
  • Manage the needs and expectations of important partners whilst balancing these with the requirements of reporting to the Regulatory and the associated License Conditions
  • Help communication between engineering and IT specialists, ensuring our needs are met whilst explaining the technology constraints to partners
  • Help develop strategic risk models
  • Data extraction, cleansing and manipulation using advanced SQL / Visual Basic techniques.
  • Develop processes for the data extraction, transformation and loading of data into the CNAIM models. This includes data quality assurance at all stages of the process.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Degree level or equivalent experience in engineering, science or numerical subject
  • Knowledge of UK Power Networks network assets
  • Experience with data integration services. E.g ETL.
  • Experience in building data pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Understanding of relational databases, their structures and system administration of them
  • Asset management / data management / data auditing skills
  • Advanced IT skills in the Microsoft Office/ PowerPlatform suite – particularly in SQL, MS Access, Visual Studios and PowerBi.
  • Gather requirements, convert them to specifications and develop solutions to customer needs and challenges and Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience analysing performance, developing improvement plans and communicating the output
  • Be able to structure problems or requirements in a deadline driven environment and produce well-reasoned and evidenced solutions.
  • Manage partners at all levels
  • Experience with strategic risk models
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud platform is desirable.

Nature and Scope

 

The AI Regulatory Reporting team is responsible for the completion of UK Power Networks' RIIO-ED2 regulatory asset volume, achievement (RIGs) and Network Asset Risk Metrick (NARMs). The team is also responsible for maintaining a suite of leading asset modelling capabilities and assessing the condition, health, criticality and risk of electrical and civil assets (CNAIM). This informs our investment programmes to ensure asset health indices and criticality indices are maintained within regulatory targets.

Reporting the to AI Regulatory Reporting Manager, the Data and Performance Analyst fulfils a critical role in ensuring that UK Power Networks is both compliant with all aspects of Regulatory Reporting associated with HIs and CIs and is achieving its goals concerning delivery of the required outputs from the programme of work.
