This Graduate Civil Engineer will report to the Lead Civil Design Engineer and will work within the Capital Programme directorate based in our Colchester office. You will be a Fixed Term Contract (24 months) employee.

You will attract a salary of £39,732.00 and a bonus of 7.5%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

The Programme

 

The 2-year structured graduate programme will offer you the opportunity of 9 months rotational placements, relevant to your role, helping you better understand the role of UK Power Networks and its directorates. The second year will see you placed in your first supported role. Working towards the roles and responsibilities outline below, you will start contributing to your team's success and meeting objectives. Throughout the programme you will develop the knowledge, competencies and leadership skills through embedded training sessions to help you excel at UK Power Networks, along with mentorship from a senior leader.

 

The Job

 

Capital Programme is responsible to the delivery of large scale, high value projects for UK Power Networks. You will work on the production (under supervision) of civil designs from a scope provided by Project Managers, Customers or the Design Lead. Ensuring compliance to design, CDM and relevant standards for both the regulated network solutions for all customers.

 

 

Key responsibilities of a Civil Engineer

 

  • Produce Civil and Structural Designs that can be constructed in compliance with standards and CDM requirements
  • Contribute to the production of technical, commercial and contractual documents for procurement of engineering products.
  • Ensure designs provide information about all aspects of the design of the structure or its construction or maintenance as will adequately assist customers, clients, the CDM team, other designers and contractors

 

 

What you'll need:

 

  • You will have achieved or be on target to achieve a minimum of an Honours bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
