This Project Manager position will report to the Senior Project Manager and will work within the Connections directorate based in either our Bury St Edmunds OR Borehamwood office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £80,574.00 and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Job Purpose
To project manage several connections for the EPN Major Connections team to ensure successful pre and post contract management of all projects to exceed the customer expectations. To complete project management through full life cycle of the project from initial enquiry through to post investment appraisal following UK Power Networks Project Governance and Control process.
Principal Accountabilities
- To exceed customer expectations.
- You will manage projects throughout their lifecycle from Enquiry, through Quotation and on to completion following PG and C process
- Liaison with delivery partners; both during the Design and Programme Delivery for the pricing and delivery of new connections solutions
- Liaison with Asset Management to obtain point of connection information and develop strategies for delivering customer requirements
- You will manage the delivery (not doing the delivery) of new connections major projects
- You will manage the financial control of projects, ensuring the delivery of planned Gross Margins
- Ensure compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- Produce quotations following our Licence Conditions ensuring regulatory compliance of all projects (LC12, LC15, LC15a)
- Work with customers and government offices to progress long term strategies for connecting new load for expanding development areas
- Manage workload. Take full responsibility of the success of projects
- You will negotiate terms and conditions, Liquidated Damages and contracts for major construction projects
- Liaison across the company with marketing and key account management, Finance, Legal, Regulation and network governance to provide an appropriate strategy to exceed customer expectation
- An understanding of the LV, HV and EHV networks in one or more of the footprints would be advantageous; a can do and customer friendly attitude is most important
- Presentations to external customers and UK Power Networks senior management
Qualifications
A HNC in Electrical Engineering (or similar) is the preferred requirement.
Applications from candidates with a lesser qualification or a track record in either project management or distribution networks (design or construction) would be welcomed. There would be the opportunity for a development plan if appropriate, including support gaining relevant qualifications and experience.
An understanding and use of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
You will have experience of the Project Governance and Control process and a commercial awareness would be advantageous.
